What do we do?

The projects of Public Health:
  • The "Teddy Bear Hospital” project. It is a project for teaching kids about health. The aim of this project is to help the 3-6-year-olds to get rid of the fear for doctors, to give children simple information about health, to teach medical students the pecularities of intercourse with small patients. Everything is based on a play: children play parents and bring their “ill” toys to medical students who play doctors. “Doctors” cure toys and communicate with children thus showing that there’s nothing to worry about when going to hospital in real life.
  • The “One Jab and That’s it!” project. During the project we invite medical students to be vaccinated against Hepatitis B. Moreover, we prime about the threat of this very common and dangerous disease among medics.
  • The “Flu Day” project. Flu is a very cunning disease. Hundreds of thousand of people catch this virus every year. The aim of the project is to invite all medical students and teachers to be vaccinated against flu.

The International Student Exchange:
  • The Professional Exchange Program for Medical Students. The program offers a one-month medical clerkship in the various clinics of foreign countries. Every year about 50 medical students from Lithuania go abroad, while the same number of foreign students comes to our clinics. The goal of this program is to gain professional and practical skills, to get acquainted with the culture and students’ life of other nations, to meet colleagues and to find a lot of friends from all over the world.
  • The Research Exchange Program for Medical Students. This program gives an opportunity for students who are intrested in sciences to do the scientific research for 1-6 months at the foreign universities. Original analyses are pursued and later presented in Research Assembly of Europe Medical Students in Berlin. Medical students who want to take part in the program are to do at least one original research at their own university.

  • General Assemblies of International Federation of Medical Students Associations
  • Baltic Friendship Club – the annual assemblies with the Baltic region countries
